OreShura Ep 1 Img0025
Kidou Eita enters high school with a goal in mind: Obtaining a scholarship for his Medical School. With that in mind, he has no intentions of getting involved with relationships nor is he remotely interested in Love. However his hopes for a quiet year is crumbled when Natsukawa Masuzu, another top student in his class confronts him and blackmails him into being her ‘fake boyfriend’ to put to an end of all of the endless confessions she has been receiving.

First Impression:
Wow this was quite a quiet start to a romantic comedy series, but it was a refreshing start. However because it was so slow, it was admittedly a bit dull to the point I was actually falling asleep a bit. When we finally got to see Natsukawa Masuzu’s true personality it started to grab my attention.
It feels like it has been a while since I’ve come across a story where both parties are against “Love”, but I think it’s very clear that they despise it for very different reasons.
Kidou Eita doesn’t appreciate or rather respect “Love” because he, their child was abandoned for another Love. So there’s no surprise that he is disgusted by it. Eita also is very quiet, and is very devoted to his studies since he wants to get a scholarship for medical school. He also has this fictional fantasy in his head when he is a character called: Burning Fighting Fighter (I am not going to lie, the first thing that crossed my mind when I heard it was Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!).
Masuzu is manipulative and is not someone who should be underestimated. Even if she hadn’t had his diary in her hands, she probably would have had another card up her sleeve. One of the things I like about Masuzu’s character is that she isn’t focused on being popular and her “alias image” is relatively quiet- yet despite that she is always being confessed to almost daily. Understandably that is a nuisance for her, even more so when she harbors hatred towards “Love”. I do look forward to learning in the future about what triggered her hatred- but I am crossing my fingers that it won’t be one of the many cliches I have idling in the back of my mind.
The Animation quality is good and colorful- except it kind of bothers my eyes a bit by how light the contrast is, making the colors quite washed out. It isn’t something I am particularly a fan of, but I will get used to it.
Overall I am not 100% sure whether I will blog this show or not. My tendonitis symptoms are back (unfortunately Tendonitis is something that will arise again and again and I will have to learn how to cope with it) so I have no choice but to be very careful and picky about what shows I will be blogging. Also while I am on topic, whether I like or not sometimes I will be forced to delay my entries since I will need to be very careful about my condition. I have no intentions of going on a 8 months hiatus again. It’s either a hiatus or take things slow.
And I’ll be taking things slow.
If however, someone on the team is interested in sharing this show with me, I will probably be able to cover it on top of the potential list I have in mind.

So apparently, Ore no Kanojo is a reversed version of Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

Hopefully it won’t be too much alike and leave out the exaggerated physical abuse humor that Haru was infamous for. Afterall, I dropped Tonari very early on.
