Kamisama Hajimemashita Ep 11 Img0025The first half of the episode is about Mizuki going into Tokyo on his own for the very first time. The second half focused on Nanami and Tomoe going to the amusement park.

Impression: omfg wordpress what the hell is with this update, are you making the gallery part a puzzle for us now?!

Kamisama Hajimemashita Ep 11 Img0006Mizuki honey, you are so precious. He is just too adorable. I am very happy that they managed to follow his story perfectly. Just to let you know the girl whom he gave the sake to is an actual character from the manga, it wasn’t made up just for this episode.
As for the The Date: hahahaha, ahhh… You know what’s coming. I’ll make this week’s rant short since I’ve pretty much screamed my heart out in the last week’s entry.
As I predicted, I knew I wasn’t going to be too happy about the episode. Thankfully it wasn’t the worst, but still- I have mixed feelings about it. I feel that the date would have been a whole lot more special if they actually had used the materials from the manga that would strengthen and develop Tomoe’s and Nanami’s realtionship. The whole thing when Tomoe had given her the pin, I didn’t feel nor hear that “AKSDJKASHDKAJSHD” from my shipping heart like I did in the manga (regardless of how many times I’ve reread it now). It was still sweet, but FFFF– what a waste.
But I have to admit- there were times when I was grinning like an idiot because they are so cute!
And you know what REALLY bugged me? That moment when they even deliberately didn’t say where Tomoe had picked up the pin. I was like, “You would have had a reason IF YOU FOLLOWED THE MANGA IN GOD DAMN CHRONICLE ORDER!
Are you curious? Do you want to know where he got it?
Tomoe picked it up at one of the festivals they attended together (either the one where Nanami and her friends attended while they were at the beach or the one they hosted at the shrine) This is where Nanami was inspired to host a shrine festival at their own shrine in order to help attract the right visitors again (not Ghost Busters or those planning to use it as a Test of Courage location).
Ah and speaking of which…
[CUE TO FANGIRL MODE]
OH MY GOD, I STARTED SHRIEKING WHEN I SAW THE PREVIEW.
I THINK THEY ARE DOING THE ARC! THEY ARE GOING TO DO THE SHRINE FESTIVAL ARC! I HAVE HOPE AGAIN! I HAVE HOPE AGAIN! I HAVE HOPE AGAIN!
HALLLLLLLELUIAH~!
JUST OH MY GOD. THIS WILL BE A PERFECT, I REPEAT: PERFECT WAY TO WRAP THIS UP AS LONG AS THEY FOLLOW THE MANGA MATERIALS PROPERLY. THE AMOUNT OF MATERIAL IS DEFINITELY ENOUGH FOR THE FINAL TWO EPISODES!!!!
While for some, it might feel a bit out of blue- this hands down is definitely the best route to go to wrap up this adaption. That said, it is truly a shame that Nanami’s character development as the Land God and her duties she had been fulfilling were cut from the Anime. It makes me sad because Nanami is a phenomenal heroine, and it would have been great to see all of what she does in action.
EVERYONE GATHER AROUND, IT’S TIME FOR A PRAYER CIRCLE.
Overall the episode was pretty good, there’s not much to criticize about this week (that’s a good thing!!!). Now to find how things will unfold for the final two episodes…

Yeah, so…hm. Pretty much agree on everything here. Mizuki’s side story was nice just like in the manga (although what is with the girls’ voices in this series? Do they all have to sound like their on helium? At least Ami’s seiyuu toned it down after her first appearance, but still…). Like I thought, all of the feels brought on in the manga by these Nanami x Tomoe moments were really watered down in this episode, because it just doesn’t make a lot of sense without the proper development. At least my expectations were met this time since they weren’t very high :/
AND YES, I THINK THEY’RE DOING IT!!! Maybe not the kagura dance since it looks like Nanami’ll be dealing with an abandoned shrine next ep in stead of dancing, but I’LL TAKE WHAT I CAN GET!!! The moment I heard the word ‘festival’ in the previews I immediately felt relieved, like, at least they’re doing that much!! Now all we need is a second season for all the awesomeness that comes later…*joins prayer circle*
