It’s been almost half a year since I’ve put this series on hold for the coverage. Since I’m gradually making my return now from my health hiatus, I figured, “Why not resume Yu Gi Oh 5Ds?”

Jack encounters the town Bommer was talking about and finds himself lured out by the Crimsom Devil’s servant and forced into a duel.

Impression:
Meh, boring episode. (XD What a lame way to resume the coverage!) As you know I’m not entirely fond of Jack’s character, or this particular mini arc in general. I’m a little annoyed how obsessed Jack is with power at the moment. I mean, yes it’s all part of who he is, and that he’s frustrated that they’ve been forced to depend on Yusei so much during the WRGP, but sometimes I wish they would expand on his character a bit more than that. But god damn it, Jack continues to be stubborn about letting go of his mighty need for POWER!!!. Of course because of this he was completely lured into this duel and wounded up possessed multiple times, and this is precisely how he gets pulled into shit like this because of his superiority power-level complex.
But even so, the whole duel with the devil’s servant to gain a power boost… really? The only way he is going to obtain a power upgrade is to defeat the devil’s servant, or what appears to be soon our favourite Earthbound Gods again. Funny enough, even though it’s a ground duel- which I’d usually consider refreshing, right now it’s pretty boring for me. Not that much happened anyways, we’ll see more of that in the following episode.
I suppose it’s nice that they are continuing to make connections with the Earthbound Gods we dealt with in S2 during the Dark Signers Arc beyond Kiryu’s arc to find out how he turned out. But again, I don’t particularly believe this arc for Jack is really necessary, at least having to duel a a devil in order for a power up, but then again, I suppose it fits him quite well since he’s the type and just proven to go as far as to willingly attempt to make contract with the devil because he wants the power so bad. >_>;
