Isn’t this a sequel to Sousei no Aquarion? It says EVOL has an all new cast and takes place far into the future but I was wondering if you need to watch the prequel to get the sequel? If not I’ll pick it up, but I don’t feel like watching the 26 episodes of Sousei no Aquarion. Animation looks nice though.

I haven’t seen Sousei no Aquarion and I could understand this show just fine, I don’t feel like there was any reference to the prequel, or if there were, they were not something you needed to understand the show

Actually there is some reference that all of you have miss up; the reincarnation of Apollo from the 1st Series refer to Kagura in the sequel…Apollonius story in the sequel is already about 24, 000 years ago…so the it is refer to the 1st series Apollo which take place 12,000 years ago (after the 1st Series), if we count Apollonius story from the 1st series…the story is about 24, 000 years ago

plus, Apollo in the 1st series promises Silvia that he will return in 12,000 years; it all makes sense here….

plus, according to Kawamori (the original creator from the 1st series), the story will take place 12,000 years after the first Aquarion television series
