You’re crazy… =_=

Yuma receives a note from a bunch of cats claiming Kotori has been kidnapped. He goes to the destination and is confronted by a classmate who has a huge crush on him and has always watched him from afar. Thinking she is possessed by a number card, Yuma accepts her challenge to a duel.

Note: Sorry that the screencaps are bad quality, I tried to increase the quality, but it didn’t do much. :\
…What the fuck did I just watch? I don’t even know! IS THIS EVEN YU GI OH ANYMORE? JUST….GOD I’M SPEECHLESS AT JUST HOW STUPID THIS EPISODE WAS. AND HOLY SHIT, YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY TIMES I WAS YELLING OUT LOUD, “STOP IT! GOD STOP DOING THAT!” WHENEVER CATHY LICKED HER LIPS!? It drove me insane because it was so creepy and disturbing! I can’t tell whether she’s half human, half cat because those ears look awfully real – but then again, if they were she’d have four ears… >___> AND SERIOUSLY YUMA. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE WEARING?!?!?! NO EXCUSES, THAT JOKE WAS JUST PLAIN STUPID.
By the time I was ten minutes into the episode it finally occurred to me that, there’s no way Kotori was kidnapped by the cats. Instead, they just took in ribbon – and guess what? That was exactly the case, it was even weirder seeing Kotori playing ‘red light, green light’ or whatever with the cats, I mean I get it’s cute and all (and I won’t deny that I found it cute) but COME ON.
Despite all the stupidity and ‘WTF AM I WATCHING’ moments, I was ECSTATIC about one thing. Yuma was on a roll. We finally got to see him dueling independently! While yes, he did listen to some of Astral’s suggestions, the important part is that he basically won the duel on his own for once. Taking his time to think things through and come up with a strategy. The fact that a friend was ‘supposedly’ on the line certainly help bring out that strong side of him. On top of that it was fun to see him use that adorable kitty again. \>w</ I can’t get over how cute it is. \>w</
Cathy, maybe if she weren’t so cat-crazy I would have liked her character. It looks like she does potientially have a badass side of her besides her dueling strength. It would probably be fun to see her use those qualities in the future, but honestly I’d much prefer to see it benefiting the plot.
Overall, speaking honestly – this episode was just plain silly. I know some may find this cute (and it was), but god – I didn’t even know what to make out of this. It certainly felt like this episode was kind of forcing it’s way to ‘setting up’ possible love triangles, that is between Kotori and Cathy for Yuma since they wanted to show off how the girls felt jealous of each other (Cathy in the beginning and Kotori at end). But in the end we all know it’s going to be Yuma x Shark *SHOT* Actually before I forget, I actually felt bad for Cathy trying to confess in the middle of dueling when Yuma was so fired up he wasn’t paying attention whatsoever.
If I haven’t seen the preview, I would drop this show right now – but since SHARK IS FINALLY GOING TO BE BACK IN THE PICTURE WITH THAT DARK KNIGHT THAT WE’VE BEEN SEEING IN THE OPENING THAT MEANS THE PLOT IS MOVING FORWARD!!!!!!!!!! Besides it looks like I was right to give this show at least ten episodes to find out where it’s going, so depending on how the next episode turns out – this show will be on the line on whether I will continue blogging this or not.

Just read you blog, and I thought I’d help you clear a few things up:
    1) Kathy & Kotori are rivals in the original magna of Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal for Yuma’s affections (*Sounds silly, I know, but just go with it!*)
    2) Kathy’s “cat ears” are actually hair clips placed in specific points in her hair to give the illusion that she has cat ears.
    3) The name of Shark’s “Dark Knight” card is called Black Ray Lancer. It’s summoned the exact same way as Aero Shark & No.17 Revise Dragon.
    4) Kathy’s plan in this episode was to cause a shift in Yuma & Kotori’s “friendship”, so to speak, which was why she was constantly changing Yuma’s clothes each night.
And 5) Astral seems to be afraid of cats.
Overall, I agree with you that this episode was completely stupid and might as well have been a “throw-away” episode just for filler. However, the duel wasn’t that bad, despite Kathy’s mannerism and her “Cat-Deck”, and we got to see Yuma’s theory that “not all duelists are bad” go into motion by realizing Kathy just needs to get some friends. In short, it’s a terrible episode but a bit of a guilty pleasure….in small doses.

Thanks for reading but there’s a few things I think you’re taking me too seriously about ^^;/ And you probably know most of the spoilers because by the look of it, been reading the original manga. (I don’t know how far you are though! LOL) XD

Despite that, like I said, I found that they made it feel rather forced, in the sense for setting up what looks to be a ‘love triangle’. I don’t know how the manga set it up, maybe it was better but for now that’s how I feel.

//2) Kathy’s “cat ears” are actually hair clips placed in specific points in her hair to give the illusion that she has cat ears.//
I was kidding about that part. I figured she was wearing something like that, (heck she’s obsessed with cats!!!), that’s why I mentioned “but then again, if they were she’d have four ears… >___>”

//3) The name of Shark’s “Dark Knight” card is called Black Ray Lancer. It’s summoned the exact same way as Aero Shark & No.17 Revise Dragon.//
Well we haven’t gotten the name yet, so that’s why I called it ‘Dark Knight’ for the time being.

//4) Kathy’s plan in this episode was to cause a shift in Yuma & Kotori’s “friendship”, so to speak, which was why she was constantly changing Yuma’s clothes each night.//
Aka in other words, she was jealous and she wanted to somehow get Yuma’s attention (unfortunately for her she didn’t realize that he wasn’t aware of her presence in class whatsoever) diverted to her instead of always Kotori.

//And 5) Astral seems to be afraid of cats.//
Probably so, but he used a damn good ‘excuse’ regarding how they were all looking at Yuma and probably found it creepy (heck I would find it creepy too). THEY ARE STARING INTO HIS SOUL!!!

The duel was good, but my god – I think the overdid the ‘licking lips’ which I must say was not only very distracting, but annoying as hell.
Guilty pleasure indeed for those who love kitty girls with love puff sparkling background. XD

Personally, I guess it’s a guilty pleasure for people who “love ‘kitty girls’ with love puff sparkling background”, but even that was kind of creepy and distracting in the duel for me. It just proves Kathy is just nuts and desperate for REAL friends….and cats don’t count as friends unless you adopt cats all the time. Kathy might as well be a cat hoarder! Also, it’s common knowledge about the Kathy/Kotori rivalry that I found out from the Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal Wikia page. And finally, I agree on one last thing…..They Do: Cats look into your soul! They torture it with screams of hunger all the time, and they treat you like a slave until you die!
