Saitou pursuits Sanaan down in in order to find out if he is related to the suspicious murders that has been happening recently. After losing sight of them, Saitou noticed Amagiri Jyuuju fighting a Rasetsu. Saitou jumps in slicing the zombie’s rasetsu’s arm off, where as he just was about to deliver the final blow, the Rasetsu started to disintegrate. Kyuuju thanks Saitou as he asks him for an explanation how that happened. Saitou learns that gaining the power of Rasetsu has a price.
Impression:
*Sniffs* Oh gosh, I can’t stop crying! Kondo!!! Even though I knew he was going to die (although there could be a miracle), it’s just, holy – he did it to protect his troops where they were still forced to fight. I feel so bad for Hijikata because they were so close and, I swear he wanted to cry right on the spot! Seriously man, why didn’t you hug him!? I WOULD! I know it would just make it harder, but still!
I wonder what would have happened if Kondo didn’t know about how using Rasetsu’s powers shortens the user’s life. Yes they would have been in the same situation where they would be surrounded, but would have he gone with them instead without having to be concerned about his best friend’s life force? Maybe, maybe not.
Speaking of Rasetsu’s powers, OMFG SOUJI! SOUJI DON’T FORCE YOURSELF ANYMORE! YOU CAN’T DIE, DON’T DIE, JUST DON’T! DON’T USE IT ANYMORE!!!
Overall, this episode was very important. It was the turning point of everyone forcing themselves to reduce their usage on their Rasetsu powers. We actually got to see Hijikata angst and despair and Chizuru supporting him. Once more, they are developing their relationship, but it still got me going meh about it. Still feels onesided.
Lastly, oi oi Chizuru, when are you going to get one of those fabulous western attire?
